SIMON PRESTON: CAKE FEST
SO Festival is excited to present CAKE FEST on Sunday 2 July. A giant edible map of East Lindsey will be on display at Compass Gardens from 2pm - all made out of cake!
Skegness, 2 July, 2pm, Compass Gardens
The CAKE FEST project is searching the region to recruit community groups and/ or individuals of budding bakers to claim and recreate their favourite landmark, building or place out of cake. The cake sculptures will be produced all over the region and on 2 July will be placed together to create a true visual feast.
The aim is simple; to create a 100 square metre fully-edible map of East Lindsey.
One more thing, in case you were wondering - yes, when the map has been completed and suitably admired by the crowds, we'll eat the lot.
DO you want to get involved? Your first step is to pick a landmark to bake. A full list of chosen landmarks by County Care will be available on www.sofestival.org/cakefest. Get in touch to tell us your first and second choice of the landmarks listed. We will then confirm your selection and tell you what happens next.
