From 23-25 July, the Open Weekend 2010 will celebrate the fact that there are just two years to go until the London 2012 Games.
Hundreds of events across the UK, from sport to art, dance to exhibitions, will be staged over the weekend.
To publicise the Open Weekend, Olympic Gymnast Daniel Keatings visited Skegness recently and invited the East Midlands public to join in the celebrations.
Callout for dancers to work with Made By Katie Green and the SO Festival 2010
Choreographer Katie Green is looking for dancers to work with her company to create an outdoor dance performance for the SO Festival in Skegness on the 23rd July 2010.
This opportunity would suit professional artists, dance graduates, and those with at least one year of dance training at HE/vocational level.
Audition details: 23rd June 10 - 1pm at The Dance Box in Lincoln (8 Dixon Way, Lincoln LN6 7DG)
If successful at audition, you will be required to attend daytime rehearsals from the 19th - 22nd July, with performances throughout the day on the 23rd July in the Tower Gardens in the centre of Skegness. It is likely that the Monday (19th) and Tuesday (20th) rehearsals will take place in or around Lincoln, but you will need to be prepared to travel to Skegness for rehearsals on the 21st and 22nd July so we can spend some time on site before the final performance. I will endeavour to work around work commitments wherever possible, but have tried to keep the rehearsal period short and intensive in order to avoid taking up too much of your time over a longer period.
The SO Festival promises four fantastic days of free entertainment! From Thursday 22nd through to Sunday 25th July be prepared to be entertained and amazed as Skegness is transformed into a colourful carnival of dance, street theatre, music, comedy and more!
