How can accessibility become a creative tool rather than a box-ticking exercise?
Join Lily Norton from Stopgap Dance Company, a globally recognised leader in disability access and inclusive practice, for an interactive online workshop exploring how accessibility can be embedded into the creative process from the very beginning.
Designed for professional and early-career creatives aged 18+, this session is open to disabled and non-disabled artists, producers, event organisers, and cultural practitioners across all artforms. While the examples will have a particular focus on outdoor arts, the ideas and approaches explored will be useful across all kinds of creative practice, from theatre and dance to visual arts, exhibitions, festivals and participatory work.
During the session you will:
-
Gain a deeper understanding of creative access and inclusive practice.
-
Explore common barriers experienced by artists and audiences.
-
Discover practical approaches to embedding accessibility into planning and delivery.
-
Learn how access can inspire creativity and innovation.
-
Share ideas and questions with artists, producers and cultural professionals from across the sector.
You do not need to be an access specialist to take part. Whether you are making your first project, developing your practice, producing a festival or event, or simply wondering how you could approach access differently, this session is an opportunity to explore, ask questions and take away practical ideas for your own work.
